CEO and Principal Nutritionist
“Syeda Sharmin Akter”, CEO and founder of Diet Counseling Centre; provides counseling to both adults and children dealing with a variety of nutritional concerns, including weight management, diabetes, eating disorders, cardiac rehabilitation, sports nutrition, food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, pregnancy, lactation, and menopause. She received her Bachelor degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Dhaka and a master of science in Food and Nutrition from Dhaka University. At the beginning of her career, She completed a five-years research of Nutrition counseling and Dietary education for the child, adolescent, women and all adult man and women. She also served as nutrition consultant for Monowara Hospital, Medi aid Clinic, where she designed diet plan for discharge patients.

Five years experience in the field of Nutrition and diet therapy from ICDDR,B. Dhaka. (1998 – 2003):

- Effect of nutrition education and specific nutritious food on improvement of growth of young children

- Evaluation of an osmotic ultrafiltration device for the preparation of Therapeutic feeds for malnourished children

Experience as a research trainer
- Train project staff member (field supervisors and health assistants) entitled ‘Effective means to address moderately malnourished children within BINP communities’ on nutritional massage, anthropometric measurements and dietary management of moderately malnourished children.
- Train Doctors and Nurses of Radda Barnan on nutrition education and dietary management of their present severely malnourished patients.
- Train project staff member entitled “Feasible means to address moderately malnourished children within BINP communities” on nutritional massage, anthropometric measurements and dietary management of moderately malnourished children.
